The Patriot Act has made it much more difficult To setup a checking account for your new Corporation
and maintain your privacy. When you go to the bank to setup the account, you will need to register with
the bank and provide your Social Security Number in addition to the corporate EIN. If you register with
the bank then your Social Security Number will lead anyone doing an asset search back to you since it
will be tied to your Social Security Number.
International Registration can have a Nominee use their SSN to setup the account for you and then provide
you access over the internet for bill payment. The client can also have their names placed on the signature
card at a later date so that they can write physical checks. A secondary signer must also have their Social
Security number placed on the signature card. The banks that I deal with assure me that the secondary signers
Social Security Number is placed only on the signature card and nowhere else and that it is quite private
Although the Patriot Act has made this part of privacy a little more difficult it has not totally taken
all of our rights away. A minimum deposit of $500 is required to open an account. See also
